The Wildcat WC22 isn’t just another "VM22-style" carburetor—it’s a ground-up redesign that improves the performance, airflow, and tunability of traditional round slide carbs. Purpose-built for high-revving small engines like the Predator 212 HemiTillotson 212/228RWildcat 223/240, and Honda GX200-based clones, the WC22 offers unmatched throttle response, top-end power, and high-RPM fueling.

Unlike knock-off Mikuni “VM22” or Chikuni carbs that are clones of the Walbro PZ26, the WC22 is redesigned from the casting up for true performance use. Its airflow and throttle signal characteristics outperform stock PZ22 or Chinese “VM22” carbs—especially in engines where power needs to be made above 6000 RPM.

    Ideal for builds needing strong midrange and top-end gains. While most stock carbs top out around 6000 RPM, the WC22 supports 7000–9000 RPM+ powerbands.

    Tuned out of the box for 12.5:1 AFR and mid-to-high RPM operation. Not intended for ultra-low idle applications—minimum recommended idle: 2000–2200 RPM.

    Replaces the bulky side choke lever found on Chinese clones with a compact knob choke, eliminating valve cover clearance issues.

  • Custom Billet Intake with Pulse Fitting
    Includes EC’s 475INT Billet Intake Manifold with built-in vacuum pulse port for fuel pumps. This custom-fit design places the carb closer to the engine for tighter installations on mini bikes and race karts.

Important Fitment & Setup Notes

  • Requires a Fuel Pump or Elevated Tank
    The carb’s fuel inlet position is incompatible with stock gravity-fed fuel tanks. You’ll need either:

    • remote tankelevated stock tank, or

    • vacuum-operated fuel pump (pulse fitting included on the intake)

  • Exhaust Compatibility
    Use with open headers that have a minimum ID of 0.870"

    • Optimal exhaust: .930"–.960" ID, open or with RLV 4104/4106 muffler
      Do NOT use with stock or screw-on lawnmower-style mufflers—they create excessive back pressure and severely limit performance.

  • Altitude Tuning
    Carburetor is tuned at <1800 ft elevation. Higher elevations will require retuning. Call us before ordering if you're above this range.
